Clean Oceans Start At Home

Meli Wraps was born out of a deep love for our oceans and the planet we all share. Melia Foster, the owner and Co founder of Meli Wraps, started the company with her childhood friend Nicole Galchutt as a means to reduce plastic waste locally, and some day globally. As a mom, Melia wanted her children and their children to be able to enjoy the beautiful beaches she had always known. Melia’s love for her family, the ocean, and wildlife of the world led her to create a product that would reduce single use plastic, support local beekeepers (and bees!), and provide jobs in the community she loved so much.

Meli means honeybee in Hawaiian, and we make Meli Wraps with local Hawaiian beeswax. That’s why our beeswax wraps last for one to two years and can stick to themselves to make envelopes, fit oddly shaped containers, and help replace sandwich bags! Making our beeswax wraps with local Hawaiian beeswax also means we are helping to support local beekeepers and ensure the survival of local hives. Bees are essential to life, and we want to make sure our super pollinators are around for future generations. Because we use only natural and organic materials to make Meli Wraps, they’re even compostable!

How to Use and Clean a Meli Wrap

How to Use a Meli Wrap:

Warm up your hands and mold the wrap around your dish or food. With a little pressure the wraps will naturally stick to themselves to create a seal. You can also shape the wraps into little snack packs, cups envelopes, bowls or anything your mind can imagine! Place the wrap in the fridge and it'll firm right up. With proper care you should be able to reuse your wrap for about a year.

How Do I Care For My Meli Wrap?

Just wipe down your Meli Wrap using your hands or a soft sponge with a mild detergent under cool running water. The beeswax coating makes it easy to wipe clean. Air dry and reuse.

What should I not do with my Meli Wrap?

We recommend not covering any raw meats and avoiding hot water and hot foods. Do not place your wrap in the dishwasher or microwave. 

 

What is my Meli Wrap made from?

We have fined tuned the perfect mixture of beeswax, tree resin, jojoba oil, coconut oil and organic cotton to make our wraps. Nothing else added, no harsh chemicals. Our ingredients together make a natural antibacterial wrap.
